Job Description:

Enrollment Specialists work to remove financial barriers to healthcare by connecting uninsured people, including WFH patients, to programs that make healthcare more affordable. Through one-on-one interactions and presentations to groups, Enrollment Specialists educate consumers about available insurance and non-insurance programs and assist with completion of the enrollment process. Enrollment Specialists also connect WFH patients to medication payment assistance programs, the WFH sliding fee scale, the Delaware Community Healthcare Access Program (CHAP) and Screening for Life (SFL).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide assistance to people, including WFH patients, who need access to financial support for health care services, including the Health Insurance Marketplace

2. Explain other health programs that increase health care access for which the patient or consumer may qualify and connect them with resources for program enrollment

3. Develop a work plan for the assigned health center location and prepare a checklist that outlines in-reach activities

4. Facilitate educational presentations for existing Westside Family Healthcare patients as needed

5. Provide information on the importance of primary and preventive care at community outreach events

6. Attend all required administrative meetings and trainings for the program

7. Complete timely reports detailing activities and the financial status of patients, including collections, following up on any discrepancies and including data and narrative as required

8. Develop extensive knowledge of health care and social service resources available in the community

Experience and Skills:

MINIMUM OBJECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school diploma or GED

2. Six months or more of experience using Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

3. Reliable transportation and ability to travel independently between work locations

4. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as needed

5. Willingness to deliver presentations at public events

6. Willingness to submit to a criminal background check in accordance with state and federal requirements (past offenses appearing in background check results will not automatically exclude applicants from consideration; criminal history will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)

PREFERRED OBJECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree

2. Two or more years working in healthcare or community support programs

3. Case management experience

4. Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish

5. Teaching and/or public speaking experience
